To celebrate the School of Mathematics and Physics' successful renewal of its Athena SWAN Silver Award this year, the School were invited to the University's annual Athena SWAN Celebration Event on 9th December 2020 to celebrate its success with other schools who had successfully renewed their Athena SWAN awards.

Dr Miryam Arredondo-Arechavala and Dr Gabriele De Chiara, the Co-Chairs of the Gender Equality Committee, who were primarily responsible for the successful renewal stated: 

"We are thrilled by this great news that recognises the successful work done in the last years by the Gender Equality Committee and by all students and members of staff of the School. We would like to thank all the people involved in the preparation of the proposal who have provided precious feedback, data, insight and ideas for actions to overcome challenging issues".
