Advanced Microscopy and Analysis Facilities
Ewald Microscopy Facilities
Welcome to QUB’s Ewald Microscopy Facilities, funded through grants from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Central Research Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), as well as QUB internal resources.
Located within the School of Mathematics and Physics, the EMC provides microscopy and analysis facilities for the QUB research community, as well as for external academic and industrial users.
We aim to:
- support world-class research at the micro, nano and atomic scales;
- enable a wide variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects;
- facilitate short-term consultancy and longer-term R&D projects with industry.
We operate so as to ensure a balance between advanced research, service and training and are committed to encouraging and supporting all kinds of research projects. We actively encourage collaborations with commercial and academic, national and international partners.
For more information on access or consulting work, please contact the Facilities Manager (Dr. Alina Schilling) to discuss how we may help you.
