Research Topic: Astrophysics meets Sports Science: Predictive real-time modelling using STATSports sensors
This research is an industry collaboration with Newry based firm STATSports which is a world-leading provider of GPS player tracking and analysis equipment. Applying the data processing and manipulation techniques from Astrophysics to the data sets generated by STATSports trackers during competitive field sport games (100 data points per second!) will give new insights into player and team performance, both in real time and post-game.
