Universal resources for quantum information processing over continuous variables
The majority of the theory concerning quantum computation has been formulated for finite-dimensional systems, which store discrete qubits of information. However, many quantum observables, e.g. the position and momentum of a quantum harmonic oscillator, are continuous. These infinite-dimensional systems offer a promising alternative approach to quantum computation. We will explore the possibility of universal quantum information processing with continuous variables through the use of quantum resource theories, and investigate its potential implementations.
