AESSEAL Make £50k Donation to Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queens
The efforts of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (SMAE) at Queens to promote women in engineering received a significant boost on International Women's Day when Mr Stephen Shaw (Group Engineering Director, AESSEAL) and Carolyn Griffiths (President of IMechE) officially announced the donation of £50k by AESEAL to the School. The donation is intended for the use and benefit of female students and academics at SMAE. It will support and increase access for women into engineering courses and support the progression and retention of female engineering academics. We would like to thank Stephen and AESEAL as this funding will make a real difference to current and future initiatives such as SWAN which are aimed at achieving equality of opportunity and addressing barriers to progression.
