About the speaker
A general nurse and midwife, Professor McIlgorm has worked in services in England and Scotland in a range of clinical, management and leadership roles. Prior to taking up appointment as Chief Nursing Officer for Northern Ireland in 2022, she was a Professional Advisor with the Scottish Government leading policy development across Health and Social Care services.
Health and social care services globally are facing unprecedented challenges. Globally and in Northern Ireland populations are aging and increasing, with many experiencing long-term health conditions and additional social care needs. As a result, health and social care services need to respond to meet individual, community and population needs, with nurses and midwives being key to transforming care and support and service delivery.
