CCUC Travel Scholarship Winners arrive in Atlanta!
The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity (CCUC) Travel Scholarship winners: Jane, Katie, and Sophie have arrived in Atlanta, Georgia to complete their three-week visit. During their stay the student nurses will get to observe what it is like to be a nurse in the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare, which is a national leader in childhood cancer, haematology, and blood and marrow transplant programs, serving infants through to young adults. The centre is recognised as one of the largest and most renowned childhood cancer centres in the U.S., annually caring for more than 2,500 children with cancer and more than 5,000 children with sickle cell disease, haemophilia, and other blood disorders. Jane, Katie, and Sophie will also be able to visit the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (NHWSN) in Emory University and experience student life in America by attending classes on campus and visiting the Emory Nursing Learning Center which is a state-of-the-art simulation and skills lab.
We look forward to more updates from our students on their exciting experience in Atlanta!
