- Cachexia in chronic illness;
- Development of complex healthcare interventions.
Public outreach & key achievements
- Professor Reid's research has been cited in national and international evidence based guidelines, developed to translate current best evidence into recommendations for multi-disciplinary teams responsible for: identification and treatment of reversible elements of cachexia; and improvement in quality of life for both patients who have refractory cancer cachexia and their carers.
- Current chair of the Palliative Care Research Network, All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care.
- Chair of International Seminar of European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) Research Network and The EAPC Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care, November 2020.
- Professor Reid leads the INDEN (International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing) Global Classroom work package.
