Description of Project: Aim; Methods; Expected Outcomes
|
Aim Using co-design to develop a robust, interdisciplinary research strategy to prioritise the needs of informal dementia carers in Vietnam Objectives 1.Develop international partnership to support research involving those affected by dementia in Vietnam 2.Understand priority issues affecting families living with dementia 3.Develop a research agenda to tackle rising issues of informal dementia carers in Vietnam 4.Exchange knowledge regarding the impact of dementia and potential methods of support Methods Using co-design, the collaboration between Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) dementia researchers/clinicians with relevant researchers/experts/clinicians/informal carers within Hanoi, will allow production of a research action plan and key working groups to support priority needs of Vietnam dementia carers. A systematic review of effectiveness of interventions on the psychosocial health and wellbeing of informal caregivers of people with dementia in LMICs will be completed to complement data collected from interviews/ focus groups with key health care professionals, support organisations and informal dementia carers. Expected outcomes The identification of key priority needs for informal dementia carers to inform a research action plan, which will allow the development of a support intervention(s) to address priority needs. |
