Congratulations to Dr Steven Wilson (French Studies) and Dr Piotr Blumczynski (Translation and Interpreting) who were successful in the British Academy’s ‘Special Research Grants: Covid-19’ funding scheme.

Their project will demonstrate the role that modern languages and translation studies can play in generating new understandings and articulations of the disease by focusing on the language used to frame Covid-19 in multilingual healthcare settings, in international public health campaigns and by patients across the globe.
