Benjamin Kohlmann, professor of English at the University of Regensburg, is the author of Committed Styles: Modernism, Politics, and Left-Wing Literature in the 1930s (Oxford UP, 2014) and British Literature and the Life of Institutions: Speculative States (Oxford UP, 2021). His essays have appeared in ELH, PMLA, Novel, Modern Fiction Studies, and other venues. With Matthew Taunton, he is co-editor of A History of the 1930s (Cambridge, 2019) and The People: Belonging, Exclusion, and Democracy (Cambridge UP, forthcoming). He is currently working on a global history of the radical bildungsroman from 1820 to 2020.
