Queen’s University Belfast is delighted to host this year’s SMI Annual Plenary Conference.
The conference includes papers drawn from all areas of musicology and related music studies. Professor John Butt (Gardiner Professor of Music, University of Glasgow) will deliver the keynote lecture. The conference will also include a plenary lecture, ‘The European Response to Thomas Moore’s Lalla Rookh’, followed by a concert to mark the 200th anniversary of Moore’s work. The lecture and concert are part of the research project ERIN ‘Europe’s Reception of the Irish Melodies and National Airs: Thomas Moore in Europe’ which is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union.
