Tom Hodgson: World Music in the Age of Digital Streaming
Tom is a Lecturer in Ethnomusicology in the Department of Music, King's College London. His latest project, which is the theme of this seminar, considers how proprietary algorithms – like those of Spotify and YouTube – flow outward from corporations in the Global North and are shaping musical practices and creativity in the Global South.
