A Brief History of ASMR
The term ASMR (“autonomous sensory meridian response”) is often associated with feeling calmness after experiencing certain sounds or watching specific actions, particularly by some ASMR experiencers. Its prominence in pop culture has been largely fuelled by YouTube and Facebook and the technological advantages they create to aspiring creatives and artists.
This talk looks at the relationship between these media platforms and the ethos of ASMR production.
