Where is cultural value in audiovisual policies? How does the increasingly globalised production ecology for cultural and creative industries influence or raise questions for the nature of digital and audiovisual industries and policies? How might we think of the audiovisual industries as communicative and cultural, as industry and as culture? To answer these questions, Dr O’Brien’s current research takes a political economy approach to examine government policies for digital games in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
