In this online event guest curator Leon will discuss Victorian photographic technology, and how Dickens made use of it to enhance his celebrity image. He will offer an overview of the various photographers who captured images of the author across his career, together with an assessment of how we might “read” the various poses Dickens adopted.
Leon will also explain how his research informed the colourisation of the images that feature in the ‘Technicolour Dickens’ exhibition, which he co-curated.
