He is also active as a composer; in 2017 he was commissioned by HRSE to compose Three Caprices for solo cello. His Six Pieces for solo flute and Suite for solo cello received first performances in 2019, and his Reflexion for solo cello was premiered in 2022.
David graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2010 and completed the MMus course with distinction in 2012. He teaches privately at his home in Belfast.
Colin Reid is a guitarist and composer from Belfast. He has recorded four albums of original instrumental music and has toured extensively both home and abroad. Along the way he has worked with people like Bert Jansch, Eddi Reader and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and Belfast actor Stephen Rea. Current projects include an adaptation of Flann O’ Brien’s The Third Policeman with Dublin actor Phelim Drew and a hard-to-categorise electric rock band, The Tony Strickland Quartet.
Colin and David have worked together on many occasions and are delighted to be performing together again.
