Each poster is a unique response to materials sourced from historical documents from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and the National Archives UK, and recordings from the Prisons Memory Archive website (www.prisonsmemoryarchive.com). The PMA is a collection of 160 walk-and-talk recordings of those who passed through the prisons system during the Northern Ireland conflict.
This exhibition is an integral part of a practice-based research project within the School of Arts, English, and Languages at Queen's University Belfast. Focused on the creative re-use of audio-visual archival material in participatory settings with the public, it offers a compelling exploration of historical narratives.
