But what is so unusual about the sounds of gongs and singing bowls that they defy our usual expectations of natural sounds, seeming somehow more magical?
Answering this question takes Tessa Ann (Sound Healing Spa) and Dr Trevor Agus (Queen’s University Belfast) on a journey through musical acoustics and human perception, looking at how muggle sounds normally behave and why more magical sounds defy our expectations.
Tessa Ann will also lead a sound bath taster as part of this event, during which you’ll get the chance to explore what you hear further in what will be a truly immersive experience.
