EEECS Research Academic Apprenticeship Programme
EEECS Research Academic Apprenticeship Programme
The aim of this programme is to allow researchers who plan to pursue an academic career to acquire valuable mentoring support, teaching experience without this having a negative impact on their research. On completion of the programme, applicants can better decide if an academic career is something they would want to pursue. Since 2014 70% of researchers who have taken part in this scheme have secured academic appointments (both within QUB and in other Universities). Many have attributed their success to the experience and support they have received including teaching experience, mentoring and constructive feedback on their CV.
Our Academic Apprenticeship Programme is made up of the following elements:
-
Teaching Fellowship to include development in ‘Supporting Teaching and Learning’ and ‘Planning for Teaching and Learning’ and 50 hour of teaching time
-
Academic Career Mentoring
-
CV Clinic to provide feedback on your CV as if you were applying for your first academic post
-
Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA)
