The Centre for Creative Ethnography was successfully launched on 28th September 2023.
Participants and speakers joined to celebrate the event, joining online and gathering in the Brian Friel Theatre in Belfast.
After words of welcome and a short introduction by co-directors Ioannis Tsioulakis and Maruška Svašek, a diverse line-up of speakers presented the range of activities that CFCE stands for: Gordon Ramsey (ethnomusicologists QUB), Kayla Rush (ethnomusicologist and anthropologist, Dundalk Institute of Technology), Ving Fai Chan (optometrist, QUB), Alice Boyle and Anna Hollis (two QUB Anthropology MA students), Martin Leibinger (artist and curator, Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany), Susan Wardell (anthropologist and poet, University of Otago, New Zealand), Vojtĕch Liebl (graphic designer, Czech Republic), Fiona Magowan (anthropologist and ethnomusicologist, QUB), Fiona Murphy (anthropologist, Dublin City University) and Agustina Martire (urbanist and activist, QUB).
