Energy Justice and Energy Poverty
21-22 March 2019
Energy and fuel poverty is a major issue for Northern Ireland: Official statistics place fuel poverty at 42% in Northern Ireland. This two day event is intended to address the challenges surrounding energy poverty and to identify pathways to energy justice. This will be a two-day event, with two quite distinct parts. Day one will focus on the academic debate around energy justice (with regard to both normative and empirical issues) and energy poverty. Day two, meanwhile, will be an engagement with policy makers and stakeholders from Northern Ireland and the Republic, with the explicit aim of talking ‘policy’ and ‘actual responses’.
