Visiting Scholars
The School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast welcomes applications to its Visiting Scholars Programme. The Visiting Scholars Programme seeks to bring a diverse range of exceptional visiting scholars to Queen’s University Belfast. This facilitates academics, researchers and practitioners visiting from around the world who wish to conduct research with Queen’s staff. Candidates must hold a doctorate and have an academic sponsor within Queen’s.
Application Process
All applicants who wish to be considered for a Visiting Research position must be nominated by a member of academic staff in the School. The nominating staff member must complete the ‘Nomination Form for Visiting Research Titles’ for recommendation by the Head of School and onward approval by Academic Affairs

All Visiting Scholars have access to the McClay Library and are welcome to attend the many HAPP public events, including the visiting speaker series, public lectures, and other events.
The Visiting Scholar title will be conferred initially for a period of 3 years and a cumulative maximum of 6 years.
Please note that the School does not provide assistance on immigration and work visas. Scholars are responsible for ensuring that they have the correct travel documentation to visit the UK, including visas.
