A few words from Etain
"I've devoted my life to promoting positive health and wellbeing through peer-support groups, training, and a range of community based projects across Northern Ireland. I have a BA in Psychology, and several Counselling qualifications, and I am the first certified Radical Honesty trainer in Europe. I am on an Accredited Register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority and am currently working towards a Masters in Counselling & Therapeutic Communication. I also hold a Masters Degree in Creative Writing, am a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher, a Laughter Yoga leader, and have a range of teaching and management qualifications."
Workshop 2: Drum Circle by Joe Loughlin, The Gathering Drum
Joe Loughlin is a trained youth worker and has been Northern Ireland’s leading drum facilitator for a decade. He has vast experience in running workshops using a single drum, to public participation with prepared performances drawing in many sectors of the community, including Northern Ireland’s largest community drum circle held at Culture Night.
Participants were taught some basic drumming techniques with the emphasis on the group to find its own rhythms. It is believed that a well organised and facilitated drum circle can raise energy levels, confidence, leadership and motivation. They also foster a sense of togetherness, community and team spirit. If nothing else it encourages everyone to sit down, take a load off and have some fun with drums!
Excellent feedback was received from participants of both events.
