Public outreach & key achievements
- Oesophageal Patients’ Association
Dr Turkington is a member of the Oesophageal Patient’s Association (OPA) Steering Committee and am an active participant in outreach and fundraising events for the OPA. The OPA is a patient support and fundraising group for patients with oesophageal cancer and their events are often attended by local MLA’s, providing opportunities to discuss research funding with local government. - Friends of the Cancer centre
Dr Turkington is also an active fundraiser for the Friends of the Cancer Centre
