How to Apply
The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences has 45 places available for United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland candidates applying for entry to undergraduate Dentistry. There are 15 places available for international candidates. Further information about applying can be found in the online Coursefinder.
Short-listing for interview for A-Level applicants is based on consideration of the following factors:
- the applicant’s personal statement
- academic performance
- the score achieved in the United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT)
Applications from graduates are also considered and the full academic background is taken into account when short-listing for interview.
Dentistry welcomes applications from people with disabilities. All applications will be treated on an individual case basis to ensure that the candidate has the potential to fulfil the demands of a career in dentistry. Disability will not be considered as part of the selection process. However, candidates must disclose any disability on their UCAS form and contact the School to obtain further advice. Candidates may also be required to provide relevant information which will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
