About
We work closely with our stakeholders, the NI Department of Health, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and with our regulator the General Dental Council to devise, develop and deliver an excellent teaching experience for our students, ensuring our final year student cohorts graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition successfully into the dental workforce. We are moving into the era of Digital Dentistry and it is vital that we prepare our graduates with the requisite skills in this area. We will ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion is fully embedded in our degree programme.
Admission to the undergraduate dental programme is very competitive and the intake is increasingly diverse, both in terms of the country of origin and the number of graduates. Our students experience excellent levels of clinic experience, Interactive tutorials and case-based discussions. Students get exposure to a wide variety of patients from many backgrounds through clinical experiences in the School of Dentistry, outreach placements and the urgent student care clinic.
It is important that we continue to attract high-calibre candidates from NI, GB and internationally and deliver dental professionals ready for general dental practice.
