Research Journey - From Almaty to Belfast
Queen's Business School proudly hosted a visiting academic from Almaty Management University, Kazakhstan.

Last September, we were delighted to welcome Dinara Tumabekova from the School of Law & Politics, Almaty Management University in Kazakhstan to Queen’s Business School as a visiting academic. Since arriving 6 months ago, she has been conducting research into sustainability and the green economy while working closely with academics at QBS. Dinara also greatly contributed by providing guest lectures and broadening her professional network. Our visiting scholars are a key part of the vibrant academic community, and it is always a pleasure to host experts like Dinara.
Dinara received a prestigious Bolashak Scholarship from the Bolashak Centre for International Programmes in Kazakhstan. Having successfully completed her research internship and due to return home shortly, we asked Dinara to reflect on her time in Belfast and at Queen’s Business School.
Dinara expressed her delight at the skills developed and the experience of spending time in Northern Ireland, adding "I am enjoying my time at Queen’s University Belfast. The course has not just enriched my knowledge, but is also helping to grow my professional skills, and personally as well. The curriculum is both challenging and even inspiring. I would highly recommend for Bolashak students to study in Belfast."
We are proud of Dinara's achievements during her time at Queen’s Business School and look forward, with great anticipation, to what she accomplishes in the future.
