Management School Students Win Big with Actuarial Science Skills
The team 'Actuarity' won the prize for Creative Use of Actuarial Skills 2020.
Anna Thompson and Brenda Laverty, who both study Actuarial Science at Queen's Management School, along with their teammate Brian Manning (University College Dublin) won the prize through the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (SAI).
The project, 'Connecting Actuaries with Charities’, looked at providing vital help to charities whilst also gaining valuable experience for the volunteers.
SAI said "The winners were announced at a special event organised by the Society on 5th November 2020 with the competition entrants, judges, lecturers and mentors present. The winning individuals each received a specially commissioned medal and shared a cash prize of €2,000."
Congratulations to Anna, Brenda, and Brian.
