Why did you choose Queen's Business School? 

Queen's Business School was my top choice for several compelling reasons. Firstly, being a part of the Russell Group of universities, it upholds a standard of academic excellence that aligns with my aspirations for a quality education.  

Additionally, the allure of Belfast as a vibrant and culturally rich city adds to the appeal of studying at Queen's.   

Moreover, the structure and content of the business courses offered at Queen's resonated with my interests and career goals. The modules promised an engaging and comprehensive learning experience, providing ample opportunities to acquire practical skills and knowledge applicable in the corporate world.

Why did you choose to study this course?  

I was drawn to MSc International Business due to a strong desire to unlock boundless opportunities in the corporate world, using my background in hospitality management as a stepping stone to broaden my horizons.  

My decision was rooted in my ambition to gain comprehensive insights into the fundamental skills crucial for thriving in corporate environments.  This course isn't merely a path forward; it's a gateway to a realm where strategic thinking, leadership, and adaptability come together to shape impactful careers.

I chose Belfast as the ideal location to further my studies because of its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere, rich history, and growing reputation as an educational hub. Coming from a background in hospitality management, I sought to broaden my horizons and unlock new opportunities in corporate roles.  By immersing myself in this diverse and culturally rich city, I believe I can gain invaluable insights into the core competencies required for success in corporate environments.

What is life like in Belfast for an International Student? 

Life as an international student in Belfast is an exhilarating adventure, filled with moments of joy, challenges, and growth. The city's laid-back atmosphere provides a welcoming embrace, offering a perfect backdrop for exploration and self-discovery.  While the transition to academic life can be daunting, it's also a journey of empowerment, pushing us to stretch our capabilities and unearth hidden potentials.  

Multitasking becomes second nature, broadening our horizons and sharpening our focus as we navigate the intricacies of our studies.  Yet, amidst the academic hustle, there's a reminder of the distance from home, stirring occasional waves of emotional longing. Studying in Belfast, coming from my undergraduate degree at the University of West London, offers a unique blend of familiarity and novelty. Belfast's academic format may differ significantly from our home country, requiring adjustments in study habits. Additionally, cultural and social dynamics in Belfast offer unique opportunities for personal growth and cultural immersion. Embracing these differences can lead to a rich and transformative educational experience in Belfast. 

 

How have you overcome any challenges faced as an International Student? 

Being an international student certainly comes with its share of challenges. The emotional toll of being far from home often creates a void that can affect mental well-being and productivity. Adjusting to the independence of managing everything on your own can also be daunting, especially if it's a departure from what you're used to.   

Yet, it's precisely in these moments of challenge that resilience is forged. Each hurdle becomes an opportunity for growth, teaching valuable lessons in self-reliance, empathy, and the importance of authenticity in relationships. While studying abroad, friends often become like family, providing a sense of belonging in a foreign land. 

Despite the difficulties, the journey as an international student is marked by moments of triumph, camaraderie, and self-discovery.
