The majority of ageing carers do not make timely plans for their sons and daughters. I am developing practical solutions to address several of the key barriers to Future Planning. An app will enable parents to record short videos to help new carers understand the needs and likes of each person. This addresses parents’ common fear that no one else will know how to look after their son/daughter. A training course will inform and support ageing carers in areas such as accommodation, finances and legal security. New technologies will address the common perception that physical separation will prevent parents and adult children from continuing to spend quality time together.
Coffee/Lunch will be provided so, for catering purposes, please confirm attendance with Prof Karola Dillenburger at k.dillenburger@qub.ac.uk
