Timo Ackermann is a professor of Social Work at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a social worker with young people and their families. He then completed his Ph.D. in social and educational sciences at the University of Hildesheim. His current research focuses on child welfare and child protection. Timo Ackermann is particularly interested in qualitative and participatory research with young people and service users in the field of social work.
Emily J. Ozer is a clinical and community psychologist and Professor at the UCBerkeley School of Public Health whose multi-method research focuses on the role of school climate in adolescent development and mental health; psychological resilience; school-based interventions; and youth participatory action research (YPAR). Much of Emily’s research has been conducted in collaboration with SF Peer Resources, a youth development CBO, and with the SF Unified School District
