International Journal of Children’s Rights
Covid 19 and Children’s Rights Research
TUESDAY 1ST DECEMBER 2020
Following on from our successful conference in 2019 to mark the 30th anniversary of the UNCRC, the IJCR is happy to announce a conference on the theme of Covid-19.
This conference aims to bring together scholars from across the globe to examine the impact of Covid-19 on children’s rights. It will provide an opportunity to present the findings of Covid-19 related research from a range of disciplines, explore the impact of Covid-19 on research methods and to consider the purchase of children’s rights in informing legal, policy, social and economic responses to the pandemic.
The conference will take place over zoom on Tuesday 1st December 2020 9.30am-12.30pm and will result in the publication of a Special Issue of the International Journal of Children’s Rights in 2021, followed by an edited collection to be published by Brill with scope for publishing more submissions. We encourage more established scholars to team up with early career (including PhD) scholars in the preparation and presentation of papers, and are particularly keen to attract scholars from less developed economies.
Due to time limitations and the online format of the event, there will be a limit on the number of papers that can be presented on the day. These will be selected for presentation following a review of abstracts by the IJCR advisory board. To submit an abstract (of no more than 300 words), please email Eileen Gray e.gray@qub.ac.uk by Friday 6th November.
Closing date for registration is Thursday, 19th November 2020. Authors will be notified whether their paper has been selected for the conference by Friday 13th November.
