MBE - Royal Recognition of Drug Policy and Practice
Many congratulations to Dr Anne Campbell, Co-Director of our Drugs and Alcohol Network (DARN), on her award of an MBE in the King's Honours List for services to drug policy and practice.
In response to the award, Dr Campbell said: 'I am very grateful for the recognition of the work of many service user activists and workers who are involved in the Drug and Alcohol sector in Northern Ireland. I hope that it may be used to highlight a number of issues, including the exponential rise in the number of drug related deaths over the last few years.'
Anne's research includes mental health and substance use including adult opioid use, young people and polydrug use, alcohol and related disorders; complex co-morbidities; drug use and homelessness; new benzodiazepines and the use of technology to address opioid overdose; Family Drug and Alcohol Courts.
