Description
Networking technologies are widely used for data communication and information exchange in many engineering applications. It is becoming more important to apply such technologies to modern industrial/control systems with a large number of distributed sensors and actuators. The advanced networking and intelligent computing technologies have provided a low-cost solution for effective distributed information processing to enable real-time distributed system control and supervision. Consequently, intelligent computation and networked control are among the current trends for industrial automation and have applications in a broad range of areas such as electric power networks, sensor networks, networks of autonomous agents, transportation networks, etc. In the past decade, we have already witnessed interesting results in the literature for networked systems. However, many problems such as the computation and communication for networked systems with limited bandwidth, communication and control design under the limited network resources, and the real application of networked systems still require in-depth investigation to reveal the effects of networks on the operation of networked systems and to broaden their application domains.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a platform on investigating the most recent intelligent computation & control solutions for networked systems by researchers from academia, research labs, and industry. The main theme of the workshop will be the advanced intelligent computation, communication and control design for networked systems. This theme is strongly interdisciplinary, involving competencies from several science fields, such as: communications, control and computing. Therefore, the focus of this workshop will be of high interest both for the academic and industrial communities. In addition, participants will have opportunities social functions, receptions and networking sessions, which will serve as a vital channel to establish new connections, foster ever lasting friendships, and forge collaborations among fellow counterparts.
