Dr Noe Marcelo Yungaicela
Dr. Noe Marcelo Yungaicela has recently joined EEECS as a research fellow, where he collaborates with colleagues from the Cyber theme. His primary base of operations is located at the ECIT site.
In terms of academic background, Noe hails from Ecuador and has achieved a Master of Science in Intelligent Systems and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with a major in Telecommunications, both conferred by Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico, in 2018 and 2023, respectively. His academic journey has also encompassed roles as a Visiting Scholar at Concordia University in Montreal, QC, Canada, in 2018, and at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in Bilbao, Spain, in 2022.
Dr. Yungaicela's current research interests revolve around the application of artificial intelligence techniques to automate various tasks within the realm of new generation networks, including IoT and 5G. These tasks encompass areas such as traffic modeling, intrusion detection systems, and network resource optimization.
Outside the realm of academia, Dr. Yungaicela is an enthusiast of outdoor activities, particularly hiking and sports like soccer, tennis, volleyball, and more.
