David Trimble Chair in Leadership and Organisational Transformation

ABOUT

Queen’s University Belfast are delighted to announce the David Trimble Chair in Leadership and Organisational Transformation and are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate, based in Queen’s Business School (QBS).

Lord Trimble made a substantial contribution to the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement in 1998, something which he noted was the single most significant achievement of his life. Described as a ‘leader of courage and vision’ who demonstrated ‘bravery and determination in leadership’, his transformational role in the Northern Ireland peace process was formally recognised when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, jointly with John Hume, and then subsequently the Legion d’Honneur by the French Government.

Given his long-standing and strong affiliation to Queen’s University Belfast, not only as an alumnus, former academic and Honorary Professor, we are delighted to bring forward this new position to honour the life and work of David Trimble.

We are seeking to appoint a recognised international thought leader, whose profile is worthy of an association with Lord Trimble, whose transformational role in the Northern Ireland peace process was formally recognised when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998.
