Queen’s University Belfast are delighted to announce the Mary McAleese Chair in Connected Leadership and are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate, based in Queen’s Business School (QBS).

Affectionately referred to as the ‘people’s president’, Mary McAleese has enjoyed numerous high profile and influential leadership positions in law, journalism and broadcasting, academia and as the 8th President of Ireland where she served two terms in office from 1997-2011.

She has been described as ‘tenacious and principled’, ‘full of vision and resilience in the face of challenge’ and ‘a voice that is trusted and respected’, with the ethics of caring being central to her vision of leadership and integral during her presidency of Ireland.

With deep roots in Belfast and an alumna and former academic of Queen’s University, we are delighted to acknowledge and recognise Mary McAleese’s unparalleled contribution to building bridges, advocating human rights and creating an inclusive society. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to develop and strengthen our leadership education and research portfolio within QBS.

Mary McAleese Diversity Lecture Series

The lecture series is part of Queen's Business School’s mission to promote greater equality and diversity in the workplace, particularly with regards to ensuring equality of opportunity and respect for diversity across the University and the wider community.
