Queen's University and INTO Queen's celebrate 10-year anniversary
Queen's University Belfast and INTO Queen's celebrated 10 years of the INTO Queen’s Joint Venture at a special event in the Brian Friel Theatre on Thursday 14 November 2019.
The event, which was hosted by Rachael Pang, a current postgraduate student in Pharmacy at Queen's and former INTO Queen's foundation student, included speeches from President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Greer, John Latham, Chief Executive Officer, INTO University Partnerships and Isabel Jennings, Director of Marketing, Recruitment, Communication and Internationalisation at Queen's.
The anniversary celebration also featured singing and dance performances by Queen's and INTO Queen's students, as well as reflections on the INTO Queen's experience from Hamsavani Rajeswaren, Queen's University Students' Union Officer for Equality and Diversity and former INTO Queen's student, and from other INTO Queen's alumni who have progressed on to postgraduate study or full-time employment with companies such as PwC, Allstate, McKeever Chemists, Airbus and McAvoy Group.
Commenting on the anniversary of the centre, which has attracted over 5,000 international students since it opened its doors in 2009, Isabel Jennings, Director of Marketing, Recruitment, Communication and Internationalisation at Queen's, said:
"Over the past decade, our partnership with INTO has helped us to achieve increased diversity, grow internationally and, through the extensive INTO agent network across the globe, make significant progress in realising our internationalisation ambition. I look forward to the continued growth and success of INTO Queen's and, on behalf of the wider University, would like to congratulate the team at INTO for all they have achieved over the last 10 years and for their ongoing commitment to genuine care and support for each and every student."
