Oroboros O2k-Workshop on high-resolution O2k-FluoRespirometry
From 26 June- 1 July 2017, four ESRs based at TCD (ESR5, ESR7, ESR9, ESR11) participated in the Oroboros O2k-Workshop on high-resolution O2k-FluoRespirometry in the beautiful Alps of Schroecken, Austria.
The workshop provided an extensive theoretical and practical introduction to the O2k FluoRespirometer. Hands-on training displayed the principles of the device, and showed how it can be used to conduct various experiments such as: monitoring respiration, hydrogen peroxide production and mitochondrial membrane potential. The participants also learned how to analyse the data generated using the newest version of software – DatLab 7. ESR7, Magda Ghanim, and ESR11, Marilena Karavyraki, presented their projects to a very responsive audience. The five day intensive training equipped the participants with the experience and confidence to start their own experiments using the O2k.
