Mr. Stephen Smith received a First-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University. During his final year project he undertook an investigation into the use of meshless methods as an alternative to the finite element method. He joined Queen's University Belfast in 2016 as a PhD student, with his research focussed on the application of the element-free Galerkin method to simulate injection-stretch blow moulding.
