Aideen Maguire is a Lecturer in Epidemiology within the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University, Belfast. Her research interests include Psychiatric Epidemiology, Population Mental Health and Administrative Data Linkage. Aideen’s research predominantly utilises large, linked population wide data sources to better understand population mental health and she leads a number of projects including (i) exploring the effects of parental mental health on child mental health and suicide risk, (ii) enhancing the Northern Ireland Registry of Self-Harm and (iii) exploring the long-term mental health effects of being a child known to social services (including looked after children and those on the child protection register). Aideen has over 10 years’ experience working collaboratively with the Administrative Data Research Centre-Northern Ireland (ADRC-NI), the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study (NILS) and Health Data Research UK (HDRUK). Aideen is Chair of the Northern Ireland Data Researcher’s User Forum (NIDRUF).
