Co-investigator on WP6
Lewis is a Lecturer at the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, University of Exeter. He researches and teaches on the connections between people's exposure to, and interactions with, natural environments and how these impact physical and psychological health. He also has interests in restorative environments, complex behaviour change interventions, and the design of persuasive communications to prompt behavioural change.
Lewis was a researcher on the Horizon 2020-funded BlueHealth project concerning urban blue spaces and public health in Europe, and is currently a co-investigator on: (a) the RENEW project examining the impacts of biodiversity renewal in the UK through a ‘people-in-nature’ approach, (b) the Smartline project looking at the impact of digital interventions on the health and well-being of people in social housing in Cornwall UK, and (c) a project looking at the lived experience of bluespace for people living with bipolar and psychosis. He supervises doctoral students researching affective experiences of virtual nature, the intersection of physical activity and the natural environment in people living with bipolar and psychosis, and the spatial interplay of greenspace, air pollution, and noise pollution, on adult mental health.
