GroundsWell in Belfast partnered with EastSide Greenway and the Paul Hogarth Company to run a full-day workshop in East Belfast, to discuss with the public “How Can We Future Proof The Connswater Greenway?” in the face of the climate and biodiversity crisis.
Prior to the event, an online survey was disseminated, asking for input from those unable to attend the event. Colleagues from EastSide Greenway and Paul Hogarth Company also held a market stall on the Greenway where they engaged members of the public in discussions and disseminated surveys.
On the day of the workshop, we started the morning with two classes from a local primary school, who enjoyed building the Greenway jigsaw, and drawing their ideas for future-proofing the greenway.
We then led discussion groups with the community sector, interest groups, professionals and academics, councillors, MLAs and officials, and local businesses.
We had drop-ins from the public who we engaged in activities and discussions.
Full report with findings to come.
