9am

Okay, so the truth is that I was aiming to wake up at 8:30am for my 10am lecture so I could relax and not rush out the door. But this is a realistic day in my life and that means admitting I snooze my alarm.

From 9am-10am I got ready, ate breakfast which was Special-K with an orange and then walked to uni.

10am – 12pm

So, from 10am-11am I had a lecture for the international relations side of my degree and this lecture was for my security and terrorism module. This lecture was all about security environments and theatres of terrorism.

After this I went to my French class which was a translation workshop until 12. At this point I was hungry so I decided to head back home for some food.

12pm - 1pm

For lunch I had one of my favourite dishes which is creamy fajita pasta and chilled for an hour or so after getting back from class.

I really recommend this dish, it is so easy to make and is really tasty! Here is the recipe.

On a Wednesday I only have two classes and I knew the careers fair was on, so I headed there next…

1pm – 1:30pm

Queen's always has a lot of events on and it's worth going to check them out. At fairs there are often lots of freebies too.

The fair had a lot of companies and organisations across different sectors - from grad jobs, placements and internships, there was a lot of opportunities to learn about.

I checked out the careers fair for a bit and then decided I was going to go swimming.

1:30pm – 2:30pm

I recently got a gym membership as I wanted to try some different classes and I would really recommend it. I didn’t make the plunge until my friend suggested going to classes together. This is a really good way to get fit while also having fun. I hadn’t been swimming in so long so decided to do a short swim and then use the sauna for the first time in the PEC.

After all this I decided I had procrastinated doing some work enough and headed back home again.

2:30pm – 5:00pm

Once I got home, I relaxed, had a snack and decided to work on my essay for the security and terrorism module and do some readings.

5pm - 7pm

After doing some work I felt justified in stopping for the day. I had some dinner, chatted to friends, relaxed and watched some TV. My current series is Gossip Girl.

7pm - 9pm

Every Wednesday I have an Italian class in the evening. This is with the Queen's Language Centre. They offer so many languages and a whole term of classes once a week for a total of £20 for students. It is such a good deal and fun to meet different people and learn a new language. I am doing Italian level 4 now since starting with Italian level 1 in the first term of my first year.

9pm – 11pm

Like I said, these classes can be an opportunity to meet new people. My friend from Italian class was hungry so we headed to McDonalds for a post class snack.

After this I decided it had been a long day, so I went home and headed to sleep.

This was a random Wednesday which was arguably more jam-packed than usual. However, this goes to show that uni is not all about work. Some days I have 4 classes, some I have 2 and some not at all. Each day is different and does not just have to be full of work. This was a somewhat productive day, but they do not always look like this (trust me!)
