Freedom of movement for those fleeing from conflict

Professor Tom Hadden, School of Law, Queen's University Belfast.

Monday 23 October 2023. 14:00 - 15:30 in the Moot Court

Professor Tom Hadden will speak on the relationship between the overlapping legal regimes that govern what is supposed to happen in respect of the free movement of refugees fleeing from conflict at various stages in their search for safety. In particular, he will focus on some of the unresolved issues over controlling borders and complying with Refugee Law, both in the UK and EU. The presentation is based on work Professor Hadden has conducted alongside the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2019.
