If you want to increase your writing productivity before the Christmas break, then this writing retreat will help you achieve this while working on your thesis. During the retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to use free writing, pomodoro, and other techniques to make real progress in your writing, set achievable writing goals.
Please bring along pens, paper, laptop, charger and any other materials that you will need to make writing progress. Lunch will be provided.
Writing Retreat Photo Competition
Before attending, you can take part in our Writing Retreat Photo Competition. Simply take a picture of your favourite place to write (can be on or off campus), then send the image along with a few sentences explaining why you love writing there to graduateschool@qub.ac.uk. You might even end up inspiring other students to try somewhere new when they’re doing their own work.
Meet the consultant: Dr Abbie Edgar
Dr Abbie Edgar is a Researcher Development Consultant at the Graduate School. Abbie supports postgraduate students with their research development and is passionate about enabling them to reach their academic potential. Abbie has a PhD in Education and is a trained post-primary teacher.
Abbie's previous experience before taking up her role at the Graduate School included supporting undergraduate students with their academic skills in the Learning Development Service at QUB, working as a Support Provider for students with disabilities at QUB and as an Associate Lecturer at the Open University.
