Queen’s University has highlighted in its Brexit institutional paper the importance of prioritising continued strong relations between the North and South of Ireland.
Acting President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University, Professor James McElnay commented: “We are delighted that the Taoiseach has chosen an address at Queen’s University as his first public engagement in Northern Ireland.
“Queen’s University has always enjoyed a strong relationship with the Irish Government, working closely with our colleagues in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.”
He added: “Brexit is one of the biggest issues currently facing many sectors and at Queen’s University we are no different – there are numerous challenges and perhaps some opportunities ahead.
“We look forward to discussing the key issues with the Taoiseach and continuing to build relationships.”
