LINCS team are semi-finalists in Atlantic Council's Cyber Challenge 2021
Congratulations to our brilliant QUB_LINCS team who were semi-finalists in the Atlantic Council 4th Annual Virtual Cyber 9/12 UK Strategy Challenge on 16 and 17 February 2021.
The interdisciplinary team consisting of four postgraduate research students - Tomás McInerney, Nathaniel McGrory, Jordan Leinster and Donal Campbell – were mentored by Dr Philip O’Kane from CSIT. Their achievement is a credit to both themselves and the Queen’s University of Belfast.
This prestigious challenge was particularly on topic this year, dealing with issues arising from anti-COVID cyber campaigns and potential malware attacks, seeking to disrupt the NHS's ability to deliver care to COVID infected patients.
The Leverhulme Interdisciplinary Network on Cybersecurity and Society (LINCS) is a collaboration between the Senator George J, Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice and the Centre for Secure Information Technologies.
Well done Tomás, Nathaniel, Jordan and Donal.
