No application is required for the  International Office Undergraduate Scholarship or the LLB Law Senior Status Scholarship We will automatically assess your application and if you are eligible, we will issue confirmation of your award shortly after you've received your offer.

All other awards require you to make an application, but you should only do this after you have been offered a place to study on your chosen programme.

The Early Confirmation Award is a £1500 tuition fee discount for new international students who have an unconditional offer and pay tuition fees in full* by the specified deadline.

*Deduct the £1500 Early Confirmation Award and any other scholarship which has been confirmed by the International Office 

You must comply with all the following conditions by the appropriate deadline:

• Be a new student enrolling at Queen's University Belfast for the first time
• Have an unconditional offer
• Pay your tuition fees in full after deducting the £1500 Early Confirmation Award and any other scholarship which has been confirmed by the International Office 

The following deadlines apply:

• Undergraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 30 June 2024 or within 5 days* of their offer becoming unconditional to avail of the discount, subject to Terms & Conditions*This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.

Contact internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk with your proof of payment and we will credit your discount to your tuition fee account. If you fail to notify internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk we cannot award your discount.

You must have received an offer of a place to study at the University on one of the programmes listed below which you have firmly accepted, completed the online application form and submitted a short video by the deadline.

The selection of our Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholars is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. 

All scholarships are offered subject to terms and conditions.

Please do not send references, academic transcripts or any form of supporting documentation with your scholarship application.

Any documents will be deleted and will not be taken into consideration by the panel.

Your application should consist of your online application form and video submission.

Your video should outline why you want to come and study at Queen's University Belfast and how you believe your programme of choice will benefit you in your future career aspirations. Please keep to the subject matter, we do not require a list of your academic achievements.

Guidelines 

The criteria are not for high quality video production, you will be judged on the content and the quality of presentation skills only.

• Please ensure that your video is clearly audible. 
• If we cannot open your video your submission will not be accepted.
• Please ensure that you clearly identify your submission by including your Queen's University Belfast application reference and your full name on the email which accompanies your video.
• Any videos that exceed the requested length of 2 minutes will NOT be considered.

Please ensure that your video can be opened and viewed by us using VLC media player. VLC media player supports many video file formats, and we would recommend MP4.

We would suggest using WeTransfer to send your video and would ask that you test it to ensure that it can be opened, before sending. 

There are 4 of these awards for undergraduate students.

We contact the successful candidates by telephone in the first instance no later than the end of July. 

Please be aware we contact only the successful candidates.

If you have not been contacted by the end of July you may assume you have been unsuccessful. 

If your fees are being paid by a sponsor, this could include your government or a charitable organisation  you are not eligible for International Office scholarships. Only self-funded international students paying the full international tuition fee rate are eligible for International Office scholarships.

You may apply and/or be considered for more than one award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive only the highest value award with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant.

The Queen's Excellence Award is a merit-based award is exclusive to new International Students who will commence a full-time and full duration undergraduate programme in the academic year 2024-25 and then achieve a minimum GPA of 75% in the academic year 2024-25 at Queen's University Belfast. The £2000 award is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment in the subsequent academic year 2025-26.

The International Office Undergraduate Scholarship, Queen's Loyalty Scholarship, Queen's Family Scholarship and the Early Confirmation Award are for your first year of study only.

The Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship - Undergraduate is paid for all years of your programme.
